Katrina and I started our 2008 Ojai Studio Artist tour at Bernadette DiPietro's Bamboo Cottage Studio.

Many of you may remember Bernadette's lovely chickens Yin and Yang. I have an update on them but will blog about that later. We loved talking to Bernadette but had so much art to see, we headed out around the corner to Ruth Farnhams studio.

Art Scholarship for Ojai Valley Students

Applications are being accepted for the annual art scholarship program hosted by the Ojai Studio Artists.

Since 1993, OSA has provided more than $126,000 in support of local art outreach programs. Of this amount, more than $76,000 was in the form of art scholarships to talented Ojai Valley students, according to the OSA. High school and college students who are permanent residents of the Ojai Valley and are pursuing a career in the visual arts are eligible to apply.

Awards will be presented May 24 during the opening reception of the Ojai Studio Artists' spring exhibit, Made in Ojai VI. The reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ojai Valley Museum and the winners' artwork will be exhibited.

Ruth Farnham (an OjaiStyle artist) and Kristina Grey are co-chairing this year's scholarship commitee.
